Cirque du Soleil show Corteo in Rio de Janeiro

The world-renown Cirque du Soleil comes to Rio later this year to wow the crowds with their almost inhuman acrobatic displays and fantastical sets.

The latest show to come to Brazil is called “Corteo” which means cortege in Italian. The premise of the show is a joyous procession, a festival parade imagined by a clown. According to the official site “The clown pictures his own funeral taking place in a carnival atmosphere, watched over by quietly caring angels. Juxtaposing the large with the small, the ridiculous with the tragic and the magic of perfection with the charm of imperfection, the show highlights the strength and fragility of the clown, as well as his wisdom and kindness, to illustrate the portion of humanity that is within each of us. The music, by turns lyrical and playful, carries Corteo through a timeless celebration in which illusion teases reality.”

Having been to one of Cirque du Soleil’s shows before I can confirm that they are amazingly spectacular and you will be left speechless by some of the stunts that the acrobats perform. It’s not everyday that one of the world’s leading entertainment groups comes to Brazil so grab this opportunity now!
